MLB Picks and Parlay 07/02/23: Giants vs Mets – USA Best Bet

Welcome to The Bet Club and another thrilling Sunday of MLB action. Let’s take a look back at yesterday’s full slate of games, where Major League Baseball stole the spotlight. The American League showcased some standout matchups, including the Red Sox fending off a late surge from the Blue Jays to secure a 7-6 victory. In an AL West clash, the Rangers triumphed over the Astros with a 5-2 win. The Royals pulled off an upset against the Dodgers, and the Yankees and Cardinals split a day-night doubleheader.
These results have extended our MLB expert Best Bet picks’ impressive streak, pushing our MLB YRFI/NRFI plays to 8-1-1. Let’s ride that momentum into today’s games and Parlay bet.

Sunday Night Baseball Free Picks and Parlay Bet: San Francisco Giants vs. New York Mets
As we wrap up another week in Major League Baseball, the Sunday night Game of the Week on ESPN features the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets. This game serves as the rubber match of their 3-game series, as they’ve split the first two contests. Here’s my Same Game Parlay for this National League showdown, and be sure to check out all of our MLB picks.
MLB Same Game Parlay:
- Giants ML (+110)
- Under 9 (-120)
- Thairo Estrada to score a run (+105)
- Parlay odds: +500
Part of the value in same game parlays is that all components can be correlated. In this case, Thairo Estrada scoring a run would align well with a Giants victory. However, plays that aren’t correlated can boost the overall payout of the parlay. That’s why we’re also backing the under, as even if Estrada crosses the plate, there’s no reason why the under can’t hit. Now, let’s break down each of the three legs.
MLB Pick 1: Giants ML (+110)
The pitching matchup features Ross Stripling of the San Francisco Giants against David Peterson of the New York Mets. Stripling is expected to pitch 3 to 5 innings before handing it over to the Giants’ strong bullpen. Meanwhile, Peterson has struggled in his last five starts, surrendering 21 runs and resulting in four Mets losses. In fact, the Mets have only won two of Peterson’s nine starts this season. It’s worth noting that Peterson gave up seven runs to the Giants back in April. All signs point to a favorable setup for the visitors.
MLB Pick 2: Under 9 (-120)
While Peterson’s performances have been inconsistent, he delivered a scoreless outing in his last appearance against the Brewers. Although it’s difficult to imagine him completely shutting down San Francisco, the confidence gained from his recent start should help him turn in a respectable effort on Sunday. Additionally, the weather in New York is expected to be rainy, which might limit the flight of the ball. Even without considering the weather, both offenses haven’t been particularly inspiring. They combined for only five runs on Saturday after producing nine in the series opener. With Stripling and the Giants’ relievers performing well, I’m banking on the under.
MLB Pick 3: Thairo Estrada to score a run (+105)
Thairo Estrada holds a lifetime record of 3-for-7 against David Peterson. The second baseman has also been hitting safely in his last two games and had a two-hit performance not too long ago (Tuesday at Toronto). Estrada has scored five runs in the last two contests, and considering his recent form and matchup against Peterson and the Mets, I like his chances of crossing the plate at least once more.
